Thanks for the article. Very complete and exhaustive. I like the pick up tube, very fun and quick, it's a pity it is so small.

I purchased an elite freedom ball machine in Sept 2008. After 4 uses, the control panel failed and the machine delivered balls at a very high frequency. I had to mail back the defective panel before they would send me the replacement. Today (April, 2010) the panel failed again. This is unacceptable. I will insist that they immediately send me a replacement panel without my having to waste time waiting for deliver/receipt of the old one. Perhaps they should pay me for the time it takes to remove the panel and replace it. Also as mentioned in your review, the amount of topspin is so weak that in order to shoot balls at the higher speed settings, the machine has to be set very far behind the baseline, which isn't realistic at all.

I recently purchased (received it yesterday) a Silent Partner Star ball machine. For the price and the features it is by far the best deal however I have had a couple issues and am very concerned about the companies commitment to quality and service. The Ball Hopper is supposed to fit on top and lock down with a cotter key - however - with a design flaw the cotter key is obstructed from going in all the way and will not lock in place. Now here is my big issue - when I called to ask what their solution was they didnt even know about this issue. When I asked again what the solution was they first said the company manufacturing the product had changed the design without telling them - then they said the technician felt an unlocked cotter key holding a slightly vibrating hopper would not come out and that they would not be assisting owners with the appropriate fix. This is horrible customer service. This company obviously does not stand behind their product - its really too bad as this is a pretty good machine.
